1.What is the MoSexIndex?

The MoSexIndex is an erotic news and links Web site where users post links and the community rates and tags them. Only the most highly-rated content makes it to the homepage. The Museum of Sex based in NYC, is the creator of MoSexIndex.

2.What is "Taste Networking"?

Taste networking connects like-minded users based on their taste similarities. When users within a specific "taste network" find something they like MoSexIndex recommends it to others in their network. In this way, the MoSexIndex finds and recommend sites that match your taste, facilitating your connection to like-minded people, and exposure to new and personalized material.

The Taste Networking process is kick-started by a survey, carefully crafted to break the diversity of our users into unique taste networks. This survey provides the initial data for our taste-tracking process.

3.How to promote sites

Once a user posts a link, it is added in real time to the MoSexIndex queue. If you think that the link should appear on our homepage, rate the post up. The post is then added to the homepage when there's a critical mass of support. A post that isn't embraced by the community eventually falls out of the queue. The MoSexIndex "gives the people what they want" because it's driven by YOU. The more you post and rate, the better we can serve you.

4.What are tags?

Tags are keywords that describe what your link is about. You can assign your link very specific and narrow one-word descriptors that organize them beyond the categories that we've created.

Posting a link on MoSexIndex is a first step to saving it securely and privately. But you're not quite done. If you want to organize links, retrieve, share, and find related information quickly, that's where tagging comes in.

For example, you find the definitive news story on Defamer about Cameron Diaz winning her lawsuit over topless photos. You upload the link, categorize it as "news" but by adding tags such as "celebrity," "lawsuit," "nude," and "damages," you can later retrieve articles about Jessica Alba, Paris Hilton, and other favorites of the paparazzi.

Tags Make Better MoSex
As users rate and tag their links, you'll be able to find out what the rest of the MoSexIndex community has posted simply by clicking on your tags. In addition, the MoSexIndex can begin to build intelligence about the links by seeing what others in the community tag them with. You don't have to completely understand all of this! Just try it out (it's easy) and enjoy the ride! Remember, your ratings and tags will make make the MoSexIndex a better place for everyone.

The Fine Print
Currently, tags cannot contain quotation marks. You can seperate tags by spaces or commas. You may assign as many tags to a link as you like, and rename, delete, or add to them, at any time.

5.How to submit sites

Submitting a site is easy. Simply click on "submit a site" and enter the URL of the site you would like to submit. Then fill out a title, description, and category for the story, and add tags (relevant words) you think are appropriate. Should you encounter a potential duplicate, please rate the original site and do not submit a duplicate.

6.How to get my submissions noticed

Before your peers click on a link, all they have to go on is your descriptive copy. Be accurate but brief... with just enough detail to entice. Post it in appropriate categories and use accurate tags.

7.How to remove a bad link

If the link is spam, duplicated, irrelevant, does not comply with our policies, or is simply inappropriate, flag the post by using the "problem" report feature next to each listing (visible after login).

8.How to find the links I've indexed

Every time you index, submit, or comment on a story it is bookmarked and stored within your user profile, found in MySexIndex. To visit your user profile, click on MySexIndex on the top navigation.
